International Conference on Law and Governance in a Global Context

Disruption in Legal and Governance: Rethinking the Concept of Sustainability, Development, and Democracy.

The International Conference on Law and Governance 2025 (icLave 2025) invites papers that explore the disruption between sustainabilitydevelopment, and democracy concept from a legal and governance perspective. As global challenges intensify—ranging from climate change, socio-economic inequalities, authoritarian turn, to political instability—the need for a holistic approach to governance and law has never been more urgent. This conference seeks to examine how the legal and governance frameworks across various political systems influence, constrain, and promote the interplay between sustainable development and democratic principles.

Given the conference’s focus on the intersection of sustainabilitydevelopment, and democracy, it is indeed fitting to frame the discourse within a Triple Helix model. This would incorporate contributions from governmentbusiness sectors, and academic research (including scholars, legal practitioners, policymakers, and activists).

We invite scholars, legal practitioners, policymakers, activists, and related stakeholders to participate by submitting papers that critically assess how intersectionality plays a role in achieving sustainable development and democratic values in the context of contemporary global challenges. Papers should explore the complexities and synergies between these crucial issues, emphasizing the role of law and governance in shaping equitable, inclusive, and sustainable futures.
